Stellar has played a pivotal role in completing the UF Health Durbin Park campus, a significant health and wellness facility in St. Johns County, Florida. This development is aimed at expanding access to advanced medical services across Northeast Florida, marking a substantial investment in the region’s healthcare infrastructure.
The initial phase of UF Health Durbin Park includes a three-story, 72,000-square-foot medical office building alongside a five-story, 220,000-square-foot hospital. These facilities are strategically located within the expanding Durbin Park community, offering a range of specialty services. The medical office building provides care in areas such as general surgery, gynecology, heart and vascular care, among others, while the hospital boasts 99 inpatient beds and a 24-hour emergency department.
Stellar, in partnership with Gresham Smith for design and through a joint venture with Batson-Cook Construction, served as the primary construction manager for this project. The company also oversaw the construction of a standalone central energy plant that is crucial for powering the campus.
This development is part of a broader $1 billion investment by UF Health Durbin Park, projected to generate approximately 2,000 jobs. The comprehensive healthcare services offered by the campus aim to meet the needs of the growing population in St. Johns County and Jacksonville, ensuring that residents have access to necessary medical care.
